Towing Services in Ypsilanti & Washtenaw County

Eight towing services, one dispatch number. Pick the page that matches your situation, or just call — dispatch will sort out which truck you need.

Which towing service do you need?

You don't have to know the answer before you call, but here's how the eight services break down.

  • Light-duty towing is the everyday call: a car, SUV, pickup, or van that won't run, won't pass inspection, or needs to get to a shop across town or across the county.
  • Long-distance towing takes a vehicle out of the county or out of state, carried the whole way and priced by the loaded mile before you book.
  • Flatbed towing puts all four wheels on the deck. It's the safe way to move all-wheel-drive cars, EVs, low cars, and anything damaged.
  • Classic and luxury car towing is for collector cars, exotics, and high-end vehicles: slow loading, wheel straps, and a walk-around at both ends.
  • 24-hour emergency towing covers accidents, highway breakdowns, and anything that happens after the shops close. It's the same truck and the same care, sent in the middle of the night.
  • Motorcycle towing keeps bikes, scooters, and trikes upright, chocked, and soft-strapped at the frame, with straps kept off the paint and fairings.
  • Commercial and oversized towing handles work vans, box trucks, small trailers, and light equipment. Dispatch confirms the weight and size fit before anything is booked.
  • Winch-out service is for a car that runs fine but is stuck in snow, mud, sand, or a ditch. Many winch-outs end with you driving away; if there's damage, the tow is already on scene.

Emergency tow or scheduled tow

If you're on a shoulder, in traffic, or at an accident scene, call 734-985-0010 and stay somewhere safe. Dispatch will ask for your location first, then the vehicle. If the car is sitting in a driveway or a parking lot and nobody is in danger, there's no need to rush: send the pickup address, the destination, and a time window through the contact form or by text, and dispatch will confirm a time that works for you.

What we tow

Passenger cars, crossovers and SUVs, pickups and vans, motorcycles and scooters, and light commercial vehicles such as work vans, box trucks, and small trailers. All-wheel-drive, electric, lowered, and damaged vehicles are carried, not dragged. Tell dispatch what you drive and where it's sitting, and the right truck is sent the first time.

How towing is priced

A hook-up fee covers the truck coming out and loading your vehicle. Loaded miles are billed on top of that, and there are add-ons for winching and vehicles that need extra equipment. Call dispatch with your location, vehicle, and destination — the price is agreed before the truck rolls.

What we don't do

We do not remove junk or scrap vehicles, we do not release vehicles from an impound lot or handle repossessions, and we do not bill insurance directly. You pay Safeway Services and receive an itemized receipt to submit yourself.

Where we tow from, and where we tow to

Our trucks are based in Ypsilanti, so the I-94, US-23, and M-14 corridor between Ypsilanti, Ann Arbor, and Canton is home ground. We pick up anywhere in Washtenaw County, including Saline, Dexter, Chelsea, Milan, and Whitmore Lake, and we deliver wherever you tell us, inside the county or out of it. Dispatch gives you a real ETA based on where the nearest truck is when you call.

Questions

Towing questions

Can I schedule a tow for later?

Yes. If the car is parked somewhere safe, send dispatch a message or a text with the pickup address, the destination, the vehicle, and a time window. Dispatch replies to confirm the time and the price. For anything happening on a road right now, call 734-985-0010 instead.

Can you take my car to the shop I choose?

Yes. You pick the destination: your own mechanic, a dealership service department, a body shop, a tire shop, or your driveway. Destinations outside Washtenaw County are fine as well; they're quoted by the loaded mile before the truck leaves.

Do you tow all-wheel-drive and electric vehicles?

Yes. AWD cars, hybrids, and EVs ride fully off the ground so the drivetrain never turns during the trip. Give dispatch the exact year, make, and model when you call so the right equipment is sent.

Stuck right now?

One call, straight to dispatch. 24 hours a day.

Tell us where you are, what you drive, and what happened. We answer in English, Arabic, Spanish, German, and Romanian.
