Started on the roadside, not in a yard
Safeway Services began in 2025 as a mobile roadside assistance operation in Ypsilanti — jump-starts, lockouts, tire changes, and batteries installed in parking lots and driveways across Washtenaw County. Towing followed quickly, because a roadside call that can't be fixed on the spot needs a truck, and we'd rather be that truck than hand you off.
We've stayed small on purpose. Every truck is dispatched from the same phone number, by people who know what's on it and where it is.
What we do
Two kinds of work, handled by the same crew. Towing: everyday cars, SUVs, pickups, and vans, plus motorcycles, light commercial vehicles, winch-outs, and round-the-clock emergency calls. Roadside assistance: jump-starts, battery replacement where you're parked, tire changes and plugs, lockouts, and fuel delivery. Because the roadside truck can also tow, a fix that doesn't work never leaves you waiting for a second company.
How a call goes
You call or text 734-985-0010. A dispatcher, not a phone tree, asks where you are, what you drive, and what happened. You get a price and an honest arrival estimate before anything is sent. The driver arrives, does the job, and hands you an itemized receipt. If it's a tow, you choose where the vehicle goes. That's the whole process, and we'd rather keep it that simple.
Where we work
We're based in Ypsilanti and cover every community in Washtenaw County plus Canton, from Chelsea and Dexter in the west to Milan in the south and Whitmore Lake in the north. Long-distance tows into the surrounding counties are part of the job too. Our service area pages explain the roads, exits, and destinations that come up most in each town.
Dispatch in five languages
Our dispatch and driving team covers English, Arabic, Spanish, German, and Romanian. If it's easier to explain what happened in one of those, do. A stressful call is harder in a second language, and getting the location right the first time matters more than anything else we'll ask you.

Insurance, plainly
We do not accept or bill insurance directly — you pay us, and we give you an itemized receipt to submit yourself. We also do not offer junk, scrap, or abandoned vehicle removal, and we do not release vehicles from a police or municipal impound lot or handle repossessions.
Licensed, insured, registered
Safeway Services LLC is licensed and insured and operates under USDOT number 4562804. You'll see it on the door of every truck, and you can look up our registration on the FMCSA SAFER system.
